“Stupidity is the deliberate cultivation of ignorance” William Gaddis

Within the industry is often a clear focus on results, but very little insight into the process. An intervention, consisting of a broad package of measures to reduce absenteeism, including strengthening the role of the company’s medical officer, corporate fitness and a free course to stop smoking, indeed yielded a measurable reduction of sick leave.

Unfortunately, it was not possible to measure the proportion of all the various components of the interventions afterwards. So the organization missed the opportunity to remove the components that had little added value. Especially for businesses, this is not a very efficient way of utilizing available resources.
Or is there no need to reduce costs wherever possible? Again, what about the recession?
